    Aim and Scope of Session

Being the branch of science and technology, electronics makes the use of the controlled motion of electrons through different media and vacuum. Most electronic devices today use semiconductor components to perform electron control. The study of semiconductor devices and related technology is considered a branch of physics, whereas the design and construction of electronic circuits to solve practical problems come under electronics engineering. Design is process of describing, organizing, and structuring system components at architectural and detailed design. Electronic system level (ESL) design and verification is an emerging electronic design methodology that focuses primarily on the higher abstraction level concerns. Electronic System Level is now an established approach at most of the world’s leading System-on-a-chip (SoC) design companies, and is being used increasingly in system design. ESL is evolving into a set of complementary methodologies that enable embedded system design, verification, and debugging through to the hardware and software, implementation of custom SoC, system-on-FPGA, system-on board, and entire multi-board systems. The augmented complexity of modern applications concerning areas like processing application, system design applications, microsystems technology, industry processes and etc require controllers that incorporate into their design important characteristics of the systems. The main aim of this special session is to provide a forum for the researchers and innovators in the field of modern trends in Electronic System Design to share their experience and exchange their creative ideas and discuss future orientations. The scope of this special session is to set the research platform to propose the different controllers designs for diverse applications for modern technology applications.

Research papers and workshop proposals are invited on, but are not limited to, the following topics:

    • Design of Electronic System using Discrete Devices
    • Combinational Logic Design process
    • Circuit optimization for the area or/and performance
    • Electronic design automation (EDA)
    • Abstract modeling
    • Electronic system level designing methods
    • Electronic system level design tools
    • Embedded electronic system design
    • State-of-the-art integrated circuits design tools

    Aim and Scope of Session

There is immense pressure in restructuring global economy by means of global flow of goods, services and knowhow, when some industries decline as well as new avenue of opportunities is created. This force in turn creates the demand for re-skilling of those redundant workforce as well as skill up gradation and training and development to promote new skills for those newly employed in new industries. Government across the states have taken some initiatives to address the major challenge of scaling up disparate skill development initiatives of different departments. Within a short span of time of less than ten years, a lot of skilled manpower is needed to be developed, required by the market driven approach. The requirement of skilled manpower in all the major sectors of the country is not only a matter of national urgency, but also it is increasing in scale. However, Government of India has set a target to impart the necessary skills to 500 million people by the year 2022.The five sectors, which are identified with the expectation to create majority of employment are infrastructure, auto, building and construction, textiles and transportation. Now, like other employment sectors, shortage of required skills is one of the major constraints for the engineering cadre for continuing growth of Indian economy. Different employer surveys addressed this knowledge gap and emphasize upon analysis and development of the classified skills for improved productivity. In manufacturing, IT, infrastructure and power sector, engineers play a crucial role. In different real life situations, there arises unmet demand of skilled manpower. Different national and international bodies have carried out survey and analysis on this growing aspect of engineering fraternity and expressed concerns about the skills and knowledge at all level of workforce. As per the analysis of employer’s feedback, specific skills can be categorized as core employability skills, communication skills and professional skills and thus, a policy recommendation may be drafted as follows.
  • Addressing the prime skill factors through assessments, teaching, curriculum, real life case study.
  • Emphasize soft skills development
  • Exercise skills in simulated environment
  • Customize courses to meet customer demand

    Aim and Scope of Session

Imaginative concepts and ideas that were ingredients to sci-fi movies few years back are quickly becoming a reality. Almost all physical and virtual objects around us would be capable of connecting & communicating with each other through the existing Internet and hence paving the ways for the ‘Future Internet’. The Internet of Things (IoT), an integral part of the Future Internet, is a vision that entails connectivity among different physical and virtual objects in order to understand how the life would change when things, homes and cities become smart. In this sense, IoT counsels individuals, public and private organizations, research and educational institutes about how the ‘smart things’ can be active participants in business, information and social processes by interacting with themselves and with the environment. Thus ‘smart things’ are expected to exchange/process the sensed data, while reacting autonomously to the events with or without any human intervention and self-configuring themselves. The application domain of IoT is spreading out over the time. To name a few, IoT would revolutionize fields such as telemedicine (or the future ‘medical tourism’), irrigation, smart buildings & industries, ecommerce, auto vehicle systems, monitoring & surveillance, etc. However, all these charismatic and pleasing aspects of IoT can be envisioned in reality only if a ‘well-defined’ standard can be constituted that could deal with the complexity, size, security, privacy, time, cost, peaceful co-existence and better integration among the things/objects, and the socio-economic implications. This special session of the conference targets at bringing together the scientists, practitioners and researchers to discuss the recent advances in theory, application and implementation of the IoT concepts that could help us moving a step further towards the IoT reality.

The researchers and professionals may submit their papers in the following areas (But not limited to):

    • IoT architecture and system design
    • Cities planning and development through Digital Urbanism
    • Smart buildings, objects, machines, systems and services
    • Smart web & ubiquitous Internet
    • IoT integration with existing networks through the existing Internet
    • IoT enabling technologies such as wireless sensor, mesh, personal area and ad hoc networks, smart embedded systems, RFID, MEMS, NEMS, LiFi, M2M, B2B, B2C, B2G, ZigBee, Bluetooth, 6LoWPAN, etc
    • Communication protocols for accessing the network, managing mobility & topology, disseminating data, routing, etc.
    • IoT security
    • Big data analysis and management
